Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to ClauseClear at clauseclearai.com, an AI-assisted freelance contract analysis tool operated by 潇 (Cao Xiao). It supplements our Terms of Service. By using the service you agree to this AUP.

Intended use

ClauseClear is meant to help freelancers and similar professionals understand contracts they have authority to review. Outputs are informational only and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.

Prohibited uses of the service

You may not use ClauseClear to:

• Upload, transmit, or process illegal content, or content you are not authorized to share.
• Upload another person’s confidential, privileged, or proprietary contracts without their permission or another lawful basis.
• Abuse, scrape, crawl, benchmark, or overload the service; attempt denial-of-service; or bypass authentication, plan limits, or rate limits.
• Probe, scan, reverse engineer (except where such restriction is prohibited by law), or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Upload malware, or use the service to distribute malware or phishing material.
• Use the service to plan, facilitate, or conceal fraud, identity theft, or other crime.
• Hold yourself out as providing regulated legal advice through ClauseClear if you are not qualified and authorized to do so, or use the product as a front for an unauthorized law practice.
• Harass, threaten, or harm others, or violate applicable export, sanctions, or privacy laws.

Prohibited uses of generated output

You may not use analysis, quotes, summaries, flags, or other outputs from ClauseClear to:

• Present the output as formal legal advice, an attorney opinion, or a substitute for counsel from a licensed professional.
• Rely solely on the output for high-stakes decisions (for example signing, rejecting, or litigating a material contract) without independent professional review where appropriate.
• Mislead clients, counterparties, courts, insurers, or other third parties about what a contract says or what ClauseClear concluded.
• Redistribute or resell outputs as professional legal opinions, certified reviews, or under a law-firm brand without clear disclosure that the content is AI-generated informational analysis and not attorney work product.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations, suspend or terminate access, remove content, and cooperate with payment providers (including Creem) or authorities when required. We are not obligated to monitor all use but may act when we become aware of misuse.

Reporting misuse

Report suspected violations of this AUP to support@clauseclearai.com. Include enough detail for us to investigate (URLs, timestamps, and a description of the issue).

Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be noted on the site. See also our Privacy Policy.
